Dancers & Dogs

Dancers & Dogs started out as a wildly random idea one day in early 2017.

Kelly and Ian are dance photographers specialized in both marketing photography and performance photography.

One day, Kelly had a strange idea: “What if we did pictures of dancers, with dogs.”
On paper, it was strange and didn’t make sense. Why dancers and dogs? But luckily they went with it!
Their first duo was Ericka and Baxter, an English Bulldog, who belongs to a friend.
They captured just the results they were hoping for – clean and elegant pictures, that are sweet and funny.
Ballet is often seen as something unapproachable,
and they felt like this project could help people to see the lighter side of dancers.

The goal: 100 Dancers & 100 Dogs.
The project is still running and we don’t know how long that will take.
But for now we are surely having fun.

So back to, “Why?”
Kelly & Ian: “Well, it’s all about just making people smile. If we’re doing that, that is all that matters.“

Woof & Walls

It started with an idea. Dogs posing in front of street art. Then came the name: Woof & Walls.
Crystal had this great concept to curate an Instagram account
featuring dogs from all around the world in front of street art.
Now that Woof & Walls ‘ Instagram account is approaching its one year anniversary,
Crystal wanted to expand that creation.
So here it is: a dog lifestyle blog, bringing you an insider look into Woof & Walls catalog and
also including some other things – fashion, cooking, and discovering the best products for dogs and humans.

Cats & Plants – debut book from Stephen Eichhorn

Cats & Plants is the debut book from Chicago-based artist Stephen Eichhorn.

The 152-page book includes more than 200 rich color images of the artist’s curious cat collages,
and features felines balancing plants (and sometimes shells or minerals) on their furry heads.
There are Calicos and cactuses, Siamese and succulents, and so much more.

In conjunction with the book, Zioxla has also released a limited-edition print.

Crazy Cat Lovers – photographer Andreanne Lupien

Andréanne Lupien is a 23 years old photographer, also known as Lupy. She lives in Montreal, Quebec and she believes in fairy tales, happy endings, magic and cats.

Lupy says “I wanted to make a series of photos, but I didn’t know about what. I thought about it for a moment until I found an old self-portrait (with my cat) that I made a few years ago. I had fun taking pictures of myself with my cat, putting it around me in the room so that the final picture would result in my cat being multiple times in the photography doing multiple actions. That was it! This was going to be my subject: Cat lovers and their cats.”

We can see that the phenomenon of ”Cat lovers” gets bigger everyday and cats are becoming more and more popular. Cat videos, pictures of cats, t-shirts with cats, coffee shop for cats.

Lupy took the opportunity to fully talk about it. It took her a little more than a year to complete the project.
A great adventure…

WET DOG – THE BOOK

Sophie Gamand – first book is available in stores now!

Sophie Gamand has been photographing dogs since 2010, in an attempt to better understand humans.
You can check Sophie’s other work here.
For her first book, she gathered over 120 portraits of wet dogs captured at bath time. Every dog owner knows too well the fun and misery of bath time: the wriggles, the poignant looks, the playful splashes. Photographing dogs at such a vulnerable time allows her to capture the vast range of expressions they can display. Dogs hold a mirror up to our humanity, and she wonders what it says about us. These priceless, touching expressions are a testimony to the close and unique bond we have developed with our canine companions.

Having spent over seven years of her life working animal care and training at zoos and wildlife centers, Carli Davidson is adept at communicating with wildlife. This allows her to capture impressive images of animals in any kind of scenario you or your client can think of.

In 2011 her series Shake became a worldwide success, garnering her millions of website hits and putting her firmly on the map as a top animal photographer. She currently lives in Portland OR with her husband Tim and her pets Norbert and Yushi as well as a rotating cast of foster dogs.
